Cristina was born in 1977 in Washington D.C. and attended high school in Barcelona and Paris. She obtained a B.A. in Religious Studies in 2001 from Brown University (U.S.) and wrote her thesis on Kierkegaard. She spent a year studying at the Sorbonne and also spent time in India and Morocco.  She attended New York University Nursing School from 2002-2004.  

Cristina started making art regularly in 2004, and came to know a community of artists struggling and thriving in New York City.  In 2009 Cristina was awarded a grant to attend the Royal Academy of Arts in London for a summer artist exchange. In 2010 Cristina was awarded a merit scholarship to attend the Slade School of Fine Art in London for a semester.  She is based in New York City where she lives with her husband Darren and their dog, Oliver.
